Lady Mustangs
Tri-County found itself down 17-9 at halftime in the girls game and the Lady Mustangs weren’t able to dig themselves out of the hole, despite a strong showing in the second half.
“Slow starts have really hurt us so far this season,” Tri-County Coach Chad Sullenger said. “It’s hard to dig yourself out of a hole every game.”
Paiten Hamilton led the Lady Mustangs (3-8) with 11 points and five rebounds.
Mustangs
The Tri-County boys led 19-6 after the first quarter, but North Harrison went on a 21-7 run in the second quarter to take a 27-26 halftime lead. The teams played much more evenly in the second half, but North Harrison’s one-point lead held up as the Mustangs were defeated.
“North Harrison is a very tough place to play,” Sullenger said. “We have to understand that we are every team’s best shot night in and night out.”
Trenton Troyer tallied 16 points, five assists and two steals to lead the Mustangs (7-4). Gary Eads added 15 points, four assists and a steal and Myles Dustman had 10 points and six rebounds.
Tri-County will look to bounce back on Thursday as they travel to Ludlow to face Southwest in a non-conference doubleheader that tips off at 6 p.m.
