Thursday is the deadline for Grundy County residents to make corrections to their 2011 tax bill in order for it to be paid in time to avoid a penalty.

Corrections can be made in the Grundy County Assessor’s Office. Taxes can be paid in the Grundy County Collector/Treasurer’s Office this week. The office hours this week are 8 a.m to 4:30 p.m. today, Wednesday and Thursday, from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 30 and from 8 a.m. until noon on Saturday, Dec. 31, which is the last day to pay taxes without a penalty being assessed. Payments that are mailed must have a Dec. 31 postmark to be considered paid on time.
