Ronald Gene Johnson, a 65-year-old resident of Princeton, died on Saturday, Dec. 17, 2011 at his home.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2011 at the Ravanna Cemetery with Dr. David Robertson officiating,
Open visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. on Wednesday at the Greenlee-Middleton Funeral Chapel in Princeton.
Mr. Johnson was born at Kirksville on Feb. 25, 1946, the son of Vencil Gene and Frances Irene Vincent Johnson. He was a lifelong resident of Princeton, where he was a 1964 graduate of Princeton High School. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the Army. He worked as a plumber for several years with his father in their business Johnson Plumbing. Later he carried on this line of work with Larson’s Construction Company, helping build the pig confinement buildings for Premium Standard Farms in Mercer County. He also did a lot of volunteer plumbing work in and around Princeton.
He enjoyed watching football on television especially the Kansas City Chiefs. He was a very knowledgeable plumber and mechanic and enjoyed tinkering with engines of all types.
Mr. Johnson is survived by his brother, Don Johnson and his wife, Willa of Springfield; two nieces, Jill Nieman and her husband, Steve of Springfield and Kesa Sullivan and her husband, Pat of Denver, CO; five grand-nieces and nephews, Blake, Hogan, and Isabel Nieman, Olivia and Conor Sullivan; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a niece, Jan Johnson; and by infant triplet sisters.
