The Livingston County R-3 Board of Education met Tuesday evening, approving the audit report and hearing a report on a grant.

According to information provided by Administrator Jocelyn Meservey, the board heard a report from R. Scott Stephens, CPA, on the 2010-2011 audit, which was approved. Ms. Meservey gave a program report on the building contents and insurance needs. A discussion of board goals was tabled until the January meeting and the substitute teacher list was approved.
In other business, Brenda Kerr, seventh and eighth instructor, reported that she has been awarded a grant through MSTA and has purchased Kindle e-readers for use in her classroom. Field trips were approved and include a trip to perform Christmas music at The Baptist Home on Dec. 20 for students in grades kindergarten through eight. In addition, the student council will take a trip to Fast Lanes in Chillicothe on Jan. 6. Ms. Meservey gave a report on the outcome of the Scholastic Book Fair and a financial update on the district’s budget. An executive session was held, with no announcement made.
The next regular meeting is scheduled for Jan. 10.
