Nancy Jo Nance, a 69-year-old resident of Garden City, KS, died on Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2011 at the St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 15, 2011 at the Pierceville, KS, Federated Church with Rev. Terry Major officiating. Burial will be in the Valley View Cemetery in Garden City.
General visitation is underway the Price & Sons Funeral Home in Garden City.
Ms. Nance was born on Feb. 10, 1942 in Thayer, KS, the daughter of Daniel W. and Lucille Haas Nance. A resident of Garden City since 1967, she had been a truck driver for the Finney County Road Department.
She was a member of the Pierceville Federated Church in Pierceville and was a former Cub Scout leader. In the early 1960’s she married Wayland L. Farris at Muleshoe, TX.
She is survived by two sons, David L. Farris and Lonnie Farris of Garden City; two daughters, Brenda Jo Mayes of Turpin, OK and Jullie L. Dale of Garden City; two brothers, Paul Nance of Iola, KS and Rev. Earl Nance of Trenton; eight grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, James, Milo and Eldon Nance; and her longtime companion, Herb McKenzie.
