Geneva M. Bryant, a 79-year-old resident of Bakersfield, CA, died on Tuesday afternoon, Dec. 6, 2011 at Parkview Julian Nursing Home in Bakersfield.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 16, 2011 at Slater Funeral Home in Trenton. Burial will be at Edinburg IOOF Cemetery at Edinburg.
Family visitation will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 15, 2011 at the funeral home.
Mrs. Bryant was born on Sept. 25, 1932 in Humphreys, the daughter of Floyd Lee and Beula May Plem Neff. She attended Trenton schools. The family moved to California in 1957 and settled in South Gate, CA, where she went on to become a school bus driver for special needs children for Los Angeles School District. She retired from there in 1992.
She was married at Trenton on Sept. 13, 1949 to James L. Bryant, who preceded her death on May 24, 2002.
After her retirement, she and her husband returned to Trenton for a few years. She returned to California after his death.
Mrs. Bryant enjoyed spending her time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She went to all their baseball games and school functions.
Her survivors include one daughter, Cindia Duncan of Lake Isabella, CA; one son Jon Bryant of Whittier, CA; two sisters, Noline Catillez of Riverside, CA and Virginia Glidwell; two brothers, Darrell Neff of Riverside and Harold Neff; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
