The North Central Missouri College basketball teams picked up victories at home Wednesday night in their final games of 2011 at the Ketcham Community Center in Trenton. The Lady Pirates defeated Ellsworth Community College 69-67 and the Pirates scored a 96-59 victory over the Culver-Stockton junior varsity.

Lady Pirates
The North Central women matched Ellsworth stride-for-stride in the first half until about the six-minute mark, when the visitors put together a small run to take a 32-23 halftime lead. NCMC battled back in the second half, leading by as much as seven at one point, but needed a lay-up in the final five seconds to secure the two-point victory.
Amanda Rodenburg delivered for the Lady Pirates, putting in the winning bucket just before time expired.
Rodenburg led the Lady Pirates with 23 points and 10 rebounds and Carrissa Conger had 11 points for NCMC. The Lady Pirates moved to 7-6 on the season with the win.
The Lady Pirates are back on the court on Dec. 9-10 in the Brevard Classic in Melborne, FL.
Pirates
The North Central men had no trouble picking up a victory as they blasted an overmatched C-S junior varsity unit. The Pirates came out of the gate running and didn’t let up, pulling away all game long.
Matt Kelly put up 23 points to pace the Pirates, who also got 14 points from Eric McDaniel.
With the win, North Central moved to 5-4 on the season.
The North Central men will be back on the court on Dec. 9-10 as well, traveling to Quincy, IL for the John Wood Classic.
