City Clerk Cindy Simpson said that the committee looked at the first six months of revenues and expenditures in the city budget, which she said “looked good.” Tax revenues are up over last year.
The committee voted to have City Administrator Kerry Sampson visit with the Green Hills Animal Shelter concerning the city’s contract and ask that the shelter allow the city to continue payment for sheltering stray animals at $6 per day per animal once the original number of days contracted for run out. It is a similar request to what was made by the city last year and approved by the shelter. Under the current contract, once the city’s allotted number of days at $6 per animal per day expires, additional time would cost the city $10 per day per animal.
