The North Harrison Shamrocks proved to be too much for the Grundy R-5 Junior High School basketball teams on Friday night in Galt. Grundy was swept, dropping the girls game 28-9 and the boys game 37-24.

Lady Panthers
The Grundy R-5 girls fell behind 11-1 in the first quarter and never recovered. North Harrison led 23-6 at halftime and coasted through the second half on its way to a 19-point win.
Matana Munday had three points for the Lady Panthers and Emily Kenley and Jodi Dickerson each scored two points. The loss dropped the Lady Panthers to 1-11 on the season.

The Grundy R-5 boys found themselves in trouble early as the Shamrocks jumped out to an 11-0 first quarter lead. The Panthers were able to get on the board in the second quarter, but trailed 22-6 at the break. North Harrison controlled the third quarter as well, before holding off a late rally by the Panthers to take the game by 13 points.
John Piodos led the Panthers with eight points, seven rebounds and eight steals. Mason Radcliff had six points and Alex Webb and Jesse Benedict each scored three points. Richard Flick finished with two points and five rebounds and Mason Alley had two points and six rebounds.
The loss evened the Panthers’ record on the season at 6-6.
Both Grundy teams return to action tonight as they travel to Laredo to face the Lady Tigers and Tigers.
