The Trenton Middle School basketball program played host to Marceline on Thursday night in Trenton playing three games. Trenton took the B girls game 23-3, the girls A game 36-20 and the boys A game 38-16, earning a sweep of the Tigers. There was not a boys B game on the night.

Lady Bulldogs
The Trenton Middle School girls reeled off two wins over Marceline. Trenton Gold got the ball rolling with a 20-point win. Lana Raymo led the charge with 10 points and Jaylen Neff added seven points. Karli Crawford scored four points and Katerina Black scored two points to round out the Trenton Gold girls’ total.
“We really picked it up on defense this game and ran the floor extremely well,” Trenton Gold girls’ Coach Casey Beavers said. “It was good to get our first win of the season.”
The win moved the Trenton Gold girls to 1-2 on the season. The Trenton Gold girls’ next game will be Monday night at 7:30 p.m. in the opening round of the Meadville Tournament.
The Trenton Black girls followed suit, winning the A game by 16 points. Daryian Otto led the way for the Trenton Black girls, finishing with 14 points and four rebounds. Ally Ockenfels followed with nine points and eight rebounds and Whitley Richman scored six points while pulling down five rebounds. Karley McCollum had four points, six rebounds and three steals and Lexi Tolson had three points, five assists and three steals.
The win improved the Trenton Black girls to 2-0 on the season.
Bulldogs
The Trenton boys Black team moved to 2-0 on the season with a 38-16 win that completed the sweep of the night’s games for Trenton.
Cree Mullenix led the way for the Bulldogs with 15 points, six rebounds, three steals, two assists and a blocked shot. Kail McCarter added eight points and four assists and Colton Neff had four points and five rebounds. Trenton also got three points each from Connor Cotton and Corbyn Guile and two points and seven rebounds from Eli Leininger. Spencer Harris had two points and four rebounds and Brice Dillon had one point, three assists, two steals and a blocked shot.
Both Black teams return to action Tuesday in the Princeton Tournament.
