CAA Board Hears Reports

The Area Governing Board for Green Hills Community Action Agency met Tuesday evening, Nov. 8 in regular and closed sessions.

According to information provided by interim co-CEO Terry Henderson, the board approved the minutes from the October regular board meeting. The board seated Irene Jackson from Linn County as a new member. She has previously served on the board of directors.
Reports were given by the Personnel Committee and Finance Committee, both of which met prior to the regular meeting. The Personnel Committee began work on the search for a permanent CEO. The Finance Committee reviewed financial statements in detail. The agency cash flow is greatly improved over the past three months. CFO Janelle Tjarks explained to the board that some funding from the HPRP grant had been reclaimed by the state through both Grundy and Clinton counties.
A discussion was also held regarding county funds that are used by the agency for emergency purposes.
Following up on previous discussions, the Green Hills Women’s Shelter anticipates a rollout date of Nov. 30. Additional details of the rollout plan were discussed. Board development was discussed and the board also discussed filling existing vacancies on the board. The board approved health insurance quotes for next year with Blue Cross and Blue Shield being the provider.
Bids were opened for the sale of the Gallatin office. A bid was accepted and approved by the board. Following the regular session, a closed session was held to discuss real estate and personnel. No announcements were made from the closed session.
The next regular meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Dec. 13 at the office in Trenton.
