Martha Elizabeth McRae, an 89-year-old resident of Trenton, died on Sunday afternoon, Oct. 30, 2011 at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, 2011 at the First Christian Church in Trenton. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery in Trenton.
Family visitation will be from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday at the church. The body is at the Slater Funeral Home in Trenton.
Mrs.McRae was born on Jan. 31, 1922 in Green City, the daughter of Samuel and Eunice Callihan Yos. She graduated from Green City High School and also graduated from Trenton Junior College. She owned and operated the Trenton Maid-Rite with her husband, Bob, for 35 years.
She was a member of First Christian Church, the Ward Circle of the church, was a church deacon and a charter member of church bell choir. She also was a member of Go and Learn Extension Club, Trenton American Legion Auxiliary and volunteered at the senior center. Mrs. McRae enjoyed flower gardening, entering flowers at the fair and decorating the church with flowers and helping with church dinners. She also enjoyed cooking, baking, traveling, attending college girls and boys basketball games, finishing quilts and exercising in water aerobics.
She was married at Trenton on May 2, 1942 to Robert G. McRae, who preceded her death on July 7, 2004.
She is survived by one daughter, Rosemary Laverack and her husband, Rick of LaCygne. KS; one son, Mike McRae and his wife,Trudy of Harrodsburg, KY; four grandchildren, Alec Laverack and his wife Julie of Pittsburg, KS, Bret Laverack of LaCygne, Erin McRae of Indianapolis, IN and Andrew McRae of Harrodsburg; one great-grandson, Lincoln Laverack of Pittsburg; one brother, Rayburn Yos and his wife, Carmen of Green City; one sister-in-law, Mildred Yos of Milan; and four nieces and four nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Paul Yos, and two half-brothers, Seldon Riddle and Willard Yos.
Memorials are suggested to the First Christian Church or Wright Memorial Hospice and may be left at the funeral home.
