Loraine Zelenok, an 88-year-old resident of Trenton, died on Wednesday morning, Oct. 26, 2011 at Eastview Manor Care Center in Trenton.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 29, 2011 at Slater Funeral Home in Trenton with Rev. Jerry Henderson officiating. Burial will be in Edinburg IOOF Cemetery at Edinburg.
A family visitation will be held from noon to 1 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Zelenok was born on Feb. 16, 1923 in Edinburg, the daughter of Roy C. and Margaret Mae Drake Deskins. She attended Edinburg schools. She worked for Belle’s Cafe and also was a member of 10th St. Baptist Church in Trenton.
She was married at Kansas City on Aug 8, 1942 to Albert L. Zelenok, who preceded her in death on Jan. 17, 2000.
Her survivors include one daughter, Joyce Spears and her husband, Doug of Trenton; one brother, Roy Deskins of Mulkeytown, IL; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Imogene Fitzpatrick and Velma McCloud; one son, Wayne Zelenok; four brothers,Virgil Deskins, Charley Deskins, Harvey Deskins and Paul Deskins; and one step-great-granddaughter Nicole Allen.
