Steven Charles Brown Sr., a 59-year-old resident of Laredo, died on Monday, Oct. 24, 2011 at the Sunnyview Nursing Home in Trenton.

Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 28, 2011 at the Laredo baptist Church. Burial will be at a later date.
There is no scheduled family visitation. General visitation will be from noon to 5 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 27, 2011 at the Lindley Funeral Home in Laredo.
Mr. Brown was born on March 4, 1952 in Fairfield, IA, the son of Charles D. and Charlotte Bower Brown. He attended elementary school in Birmingham, IA and was a 1970 graduate of Bloomfield High School in Bloomfield, IA. He graduated from Indian Hills Community College, specializing in small appliance and service repair. He was a member of the Laredo Baptist Church.
He enjoyed spending time with is grandchildren, using his hands to fix and repair things and driving trucks.
He was married on Jan. 17, 1987 at Knoxville, IA to Roxie Schilb, who survives of the home.
He is also survived by one son, Steve Brown Jr. of Laredo; one daughter, Angela Struble and her husband, Ron, of Laredo; eight granddaughters, Rosemary, Summer, Tabitha, Sue, Destiny and Judy Brown of Mexico, MO and Jo Ann Watson and Roxie Struble of Laredo; two sisters, Sharon Coffin and her husband, James of Fairfield and Brenda Bozarth and her husband, Don, of Graceville, FL; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Barbara J. Barcus.
