Trenton was led by Chandler Wilson during the first day of the two-day event. Wilson shot a 95, placing her in a tie for 25th individually at the tournament. Katie Lenhart also shot in the 90’s, coming around the 18-hole layout at Silo Ridge with a 99. That mark places Lenhart in a tie for 41st.
Behind the top two, Trenton got a 106 from Haley Purkapile and a 119 from Mackenzie Mack to round out the Lady Bulldogs’ team score. Gemma Gray was also in action for the Lady Bulldogs, carding a score of 153.
“The girls played a solid round under very windy conditions,” Lady Bulldogs’ Coach Jeremy Austin said. “They put us nine strokes from fourth overall so I like our chances for today.”
Leading the tournament in the team standings after day one were Westminster Christian Academy, first with a 333; Maryville, second with a 375; Villa Duchesne, third with a 400; and Pembroke Hill, fourth with a 410.
Golfers returned to the links in Bolivar this morning to wrap up the tournament with the second day of play.
