This is the 25th year the Poosey Conservation Area has opened its roads and trails to the public. this year the department will be celebrating “The International Year of Forests” and displays will highlight the importance of forests and the many benefits received. In addition, there will be information about the history of the Poosey community.
Gates open at noon and the last cars be allowed through at 4 p.m. The tour route begins at Pike’s Lake on the northeast side of the area. Roads will be graded and mostly graveled for easy traffic, however, four-wheel drive and high clearance vehicles are recommended. The route will take about one hour to complete without stops. Persons should allow more time for stops and discussion.
