The Grundy County Commission did not vote to permanently close a road that is currently closed to the public during its meeting Tuesday.
According to Grundy County Clerk Betty Spickard, the commission did not take action to close N.W. 30th Street permanently, but will keep the road closed to the public until Trenton Township officials make repairs that will allow two vehicles to pass. Petitions were received by the commission to both close the road and to keep it open and Tuesday was the first day of the new quarter, which is when action could be taken. Erosion has left the roadway so narrow that two cars cannot safely pass.
