The Busy Bees 4-H Club met on Sept. 23 at the Laredo Community Center. There were 10 members, six leaders and 1 guest present. President Tyler Kidd presided over the meeting.
Busy Bees 4-H Club Holds Meeting
Haley Kidd led the Pledge of Allegiance and Robert Urich led the 4-H pledge. Roll call was answered with each member telling what projects they were enrolling in for the new year.
New year enrollment forms were turned in. New officers were elected and included Tyler Kidd, president; Cooper Lewis, vice president; Haley Kidd, secretary; Alena Allen, treasurer; Rebecca Urich, reporter and Robert Urich, 4-H council representative. School supplies were collected to send to the 548th Transportation Company in Afghanistan.
Several upcoming activities were discussed. Radio public service announcements will be recorded on Sept. 29. The club window for National 4-H week will be set up on Oct. 2. The club will be serving meals for the Missouri Day Festival on Oct. 13 at the First Baptist Church. A parade float was discussed for Oct. 15. Meals will be served at the Laredo Lions Club Ozark supper on Oct. 29 and Recognition Day is set for Oct. 30.
Molly Long from the Grundy County Health Department gave a talk on keeping healthy. She used a black light to show the germs on people’s hands and how to properly wash your hands. Refreshments were brought by Cooper and Lainie Lewis.
The next meeting is scheduled for Oct. 21
