Lawrence Daly Kircher, a 96-year-old resident of Corydon, IA, died on Sunday, Sept. 25, 2011 at the Wayne County Hospital in Corydon.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2011, at 2:00 p.m., at the Christian Church in Harrisonville with Pastor Adam Harmon officiating. Burial will be in the Orient Cemetery in Harrisonville. Greenlee-Middleton Funeral Service of Princeton is in charge of arrangements.
The family visitation will be held on Wednesday from 1 p.m. until service time at the church.
Mr. Kircher was born on Sept. 15, 1915 in East Lynne, the son of Peter David and Cora Alice Daly Kircher. He was raised on a farm south of East Lynne where he was a 1932 graduate of East Lynne High School. He was married to Letha Feeback on Dec. 24, 1936. They lived most of their married life on the family farm near East Lynne where he farmed, raised hogs and cattle and ran a dairy. He enjoyed fishing area ponds for catfish, bass, and frogs. In 1971, he and Letha retired from farming and moved to Harrisonville, where he worked in the plumbing department of the local hardware store, The Family Center. He later worked in the plumbing shop for Chet Merriam as a parts manager. He retired from Merriam’s Plumbing in 1990. Lawrence and Letha celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1986.
He was married on July 7, 1998 to Thelma Morin Johnson. They continued to live in Harrisonville until 2000, when they moved to Trenton. They enjoyed traveling and spent their winters in Alamo, Texas.
After Thelma’s death, he moved to Corydon, where he lived with his stepson John Johnson and wife, Wanda. He later moved into the Murphy Place assisted living apartments in Corydon and for the past few months had been a resident of the Corydon Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Mr. Kircher was preceded in death by his wives, Letha on Feb. 8, 1988, and Thelma on Feb. 22, 2008; his parents; two brothers, Leroy Kircher and his wife, Claire and Glen Kircher and his wives, Leta and Jerry; a sister, Grace Peterson and her husband, Theron; and three nephews, J.D. Peterson, Allen and Junior Kircher.
Mr. Kircher is survived by two stepsons, Jim Johnson and his wife, Sharon of Trenton and John Johnson and his wife, Wanda of Corydon; a brother-in-law, Robert Morin and his wife, Mildred of Dallas Center, IA; two nephews; four nieces; five step-grandchildren; 18 step-great-grandchildren; six step-great-great-grandchildren; 4 great-nieces and nephews; and three great-great nieces and nephews.
