Brady-Elliott Wedding

LTC Mark Brady (Ret) and Miss Kayla Elliott were married in the lakeside pavillion at the Kansas City Airport Marriott on Saturday, July 2, 2011 at 4:30 in the afternoon. Roger DeLoach performed the double-ring ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Elliott of Trenton. The groom’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Frank Brady and Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Miller of Kansas City.
Large arrangements of greenery flanked the front of the room and the aisle was marked by silver hurricane candlesticks, trimmed with greenery and tulle and holding lighted white tapers.
Casey Eliott, sister-in-law of the bride, sang “Feels Like Home” at the beginning of the ceremony, Ushers were David and Philip Elliott, brothers of the bride.
The bride, escorted by her father, chose a sleeveless floor-length candlelight satin gown featuring a full skirt and a wide-shirred band at the waist. She wore an elbow-length veil with a silver headband in her hair. She also wore crystal chandelier earrings and a jeweled bracelet that had belonged to her grandmother, Deloris Sawyer. She carried a bouquet of fuchsia, pink and white silk lilies and roses, tied with black satin ribbon.
Miranda Brady, daughter of the groom, was the junior bridesmaid. She wore a black sleeveless dress with a vee neckline and a sash at the empire waist.
The bride’s other attendants were Beth Huff, Jenny Soares and Kristy Eckerson. They were attired in sleeveless street-length black dresses with silver accessories. All the attendants carried nosegays of pink, fuchsia and white flowers, tied with black satin ribbon. All flower arrangements for the wedding and reception were fashioned by the bride.
The flower girl was Lauren Wright, niece of the groom. She wore a sleeveless dress of hot pink sateen with a black sash. Tommy Brady, nephew of the groom, was ringbearer.
Tim Brady served as best man. Groomsmen were Sean and Michael Brady. All are brothers of the groom.
Sadie Elliott, cousin of the bride, attended the guest book and received the gifts. Michelle Williams was the bride’s personal attendant.
A reception was held in the hotel banquet room following the ceremony. Each table was covered with black cloth with a white runner and held centerpieces of votive candles, arrangements of fuchsia, pink and white flowers, crystals and petals. Behind the head table were four white trees that were spotlighted in pink. In honor of Independence Day, an American flag was displayed and illuminated. Following a plated dinner, a four-tier wedding cake was served. The cake was iced in white sparkle fondant and featured layers of different flavors, including strawberry, red velvet, carrot and white. The cake was decorated with black ribbon, jeweled garland, pink stargazer lilies and topped with a jeweled “B.”
After a honeymoon cruise in the Caribbean, the couple is at home in Kansas City.
The bride, a graduate of Trenton High School, received her bachelor of science degree in communications from Central Missouri State University and her master of arts degree in marketing from Webster University. She is employed as the development director for the Northland Christian Education System in Kansas City.
Following a career in the U.S. Army, including tours of Desert Storm, Kosovo, Afghanistan and Iraq, the groom is employed as a military analyst for Cubic Corporation at Ft. Leavenworth, KS.
