Leading the way for the Lady Bulldogs was Chandler Wilson, who overcame a slow start to finish with an 87, the third-lowest total of the tournament. Wilson shot a 49 on the front nine, but rallied with a 38 on the back nine to earn a medal. Wilson had five pars and a birdie, all coming on the back nine.
Katie Lenhart was behind Wilson with a 97, shooting a 51 on the front nine and a 46 on the back nine. That mark tied Lenhart for 11th overall at the tournament. Haley Purkapile broke 100 as well, shooting a 99 with a 53 on the front nine and a 46 on the back nine.
Rounding out Trenton’s total was Mackenzie Mack, who shot twin nine-hole scores of 60 for a 120. Gemma Gray, also in action for THS, shot a 128 with scores of 64 on the front and back nine.
“It was a good opportunity for us to go play our district course,” Trenton Coach Jeremy Austin said. “The girls are familiar with the course, but we haven’t played it yet this year. They did a good job, but I think we would like to improve there between now and districts.”
Trenton has one tournament left before districts, the Kirksville Tournament. That event will be held on Monday at 9 a.m.
