Norris, a graduate of UCM, is doing a 365-day self-portrait project, which he posts daily on Facebook and other social blogs. He began the project on Oct. 22, 2010 and plans to quit on that day.
According to the magazine, Norris’ project is less about expressing his opinion and more about improving his craft. He draws the portrait and posts it the following day on his blog, along with thoughts about what he created and why. The magazine stated that the project has been a lesson in discipline, inspiration and skill, with Norris noting that on most days he enjoys doing the self-portrait but that some days the creation takes more motivation. He said he plans to work with a publisher to produce a book of the self-portraits and ultimately would like to display his work in galleries.
Many of the self-portraits are included with the magazine article.
