The Galt City Council held a brief meeting Saturday, hearing an update on recent electrical damage caused by a storm.

City Clerk Mary Young said the damage to electrical lines is estimated at $60,000 and is not covered by insurance. She said the repairs will be paid for through current city funds. She also noted that the council set the tax levy at .999 on the $100 assessed valuation following a hearing held Aug. 31.
The next regular meeting is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 8.
