Lady Mustangs
The Tri-County girls only mustered one hit against the Lady Eagles and failed to put a run on the board. Jefferson jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first inning and steadily pulled away throughout the game.
“The girls competed the whole game and never got down,” Lady Mustangs’ Coach Scott Moran said. “We played a very good team and I’m very pleased with our effort.”
Lindsey Murphy collected the Lady Mustangs (2-3) lone hit in the game.
Mustangs
The Tri-County boys suffered their first loss of the season, falling to the Eagles by the 10-run rule. Jefferson jumped out with a 10-run first inning and Tri-County was playing catch-up the rest of the night.
“Defensively, we are going to have to make some strides if we are going to compete with the best teams in the state,” Mustangs’ Coach Chad Sullenger said. “After the first inning we settled down and did a better job.”
Trenton Troyer led the Mustang offense with two doubles and two RBIs and Gary Eads had one double and one RBI for Tri-County (4-1).
The Tri-County teams are in the HDC Conference Tourney.
