Princeton Girls Die In Accident

Two Princeton High School juniors were killed in a one-vehicle accident on Wednesday afternoon east of Princeton.

Emily Clark, 16, and Kelsey Purdun, 17, were both pronounced dead at the scene. The Missouri Highway Patrol said Miss Clark was the driver of a car that was southbound on Route C, just one mile north of Route E and 10 miles east of Princeton. The vehicle left the roadway, overturned and continued through a fence, ejecting both occupants and then striking an embankment. The car was demolished. Neither girl was wearing a seatbelt.
The accident was investigated by Trooper J.N. Wombwell, assisted by Trooper B.N. Raney, Trooper J.C. Acree, Trooper T.B. Heintz, the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office and the Mercer County EMS.
