Jack Tolen, an 89-year-old former resident of Jamesport, died at 12:32 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 2, 2011 at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cameron, where he had resided since May 26, 2010.

Mr. Tolen was born on Sept. 26, 1921 at Carlow, the son of Roy and Madge French Tolen. On Aug. 5, 1939 he was married to Virginia Lamp, who preceded him in death on Aug. 3, 2009. He owned and operated a Chevrolet dealership and repair shop in Jamesport. Later he owned a TV sales and repair shop also in Jamesport. He served as the Daviess County Coroner for several years and also worked for Roberson Funeral Home for many years.
Surviving relatives include a son, Al “K” Tolen of Panama City Beach, FL; a daughter, Cathy Boswell of San Antonio, TX; a sister, Jerry Winburn of Georgia; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and a brother, Jim Tolen.
