Entries Sought For CJ Day Parade

Grand River Mutual is in charge of the Calamity Jane Day Parade on Sept 17.

Entrants may register from 10:30 a.m. to noon that day at the city barn or may pre-register by contacting Amy Clapham at 748-2110. In order to be judged, all entrants must be registered and in line by noon.
There will be a float in the parade for Century Farm owners and their families. Persons wanting to ride on the float can contact CR Wilson at 485-6608 or Rhonda Watkins at 748-4438. There will be a display in Shelter Insurance of farm owners memorabilia. Persons can take their items to the office by Sept. 8.
Plans are under way for the Calamity Jane Singing Bee to be held the afternoon of Sept. 17. It is open to all non-profit groups with teams of two to four people. Prize money awarded will be $100 for first place, $75 for second place and $50 for third place. Kelly Bertrand and Felisha Bertrand are in charge of the event.
