Marjorie Marie Sullivan, an 89-year-old resident of Altoona, IA, died on Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2011, at the Bright-Kavanagh Hospice House in Des Moines, IA.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2011, at the Greenlee-Middleton Funeral Chapel in Princeton with Pastor Gary Watkins officiating. Burial will be in the Early Cemetery in Mercer.
Open visitation and viewing will begin at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, at the funeral home, where the family visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time.
Mrs. Sullivan was born on July 6, 1922 in Valley Junction, IA, the daughter of Oscar and Nina Boyd Lambert She was married on Dec. 10, 1941 at Trenton to Michael F. Sullivan, who preceded her in death on April 18, 2000.
The couple lived in the Des Moines area until her husband’s retirement in 1986, then moved to Mercer and lived on Lake Marie, where they enjoyed camping and fishing with the family. Mrs. Sullivan moved to Altoona, in 2002.
She is survived by three sons, Tim Sullivan and his wife, Barb of Altoona, Kelly Sullivan and his wife, Bert of Chandler, AZ and Patrick Sullivan and his wife, Jan of Rockford, IL; a daughter-in-law, Jill Sullivan of Davenport, IA; one sister, Maxine Archibald of Des Moines; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and by several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Michael Jr. who died in infancy, and James Michael; an infant daughter, Marjorion; and a sister, Mary Jane Short.
