Grundy Sweeps Gilman City

The Grundy R-5 softball teams traveled to Gilman City Thursday night and evened their records with an HDC Conference sweep. The Lady Panthers scored a 20-3 win and the Panthers won 16-9.

In the girls game, the Lady Panthers scored in all four innings contested, including an 11-run spot in the third. Shelbi Stimpson was 2-for-3 with a grand slam home run and four RBIs. Marina Munday was 2-for-3 as well. Katie Coin evened her record at 1-1 on the season, picking up the win on the hill with seven strikeouts.
The Grundy boys tallied four in the first and three in the second and showed the way for the rest of the game. Stuart Eller was 5-for-5 at the plate for the Panthers and had three RBIs. Zack Stephens was 3-for-4 and Jordin Curtis, Clayton Radcliff and Brody Hatcher all scored three runs each. Mason Larson was the winning pitcher, going to 1-1 on the season.
