Jessie M. Harding, Trenton, waived his preliminary hearing and had his case bound over to the Circuit Division on a charge of forgery, with trial-setting scheduled for today.
Earl D. Ireland, Spickard, waived his preliminary hearing and had his case bound over to the Circuit Division on charges of resisting or interfering with an arrest for a felony. Trial-setting was scheduled for today.
Karye J. Burke, 38, Gilman City, had her case bound over to the Circuit Division on a charge of driving while intoxicated (persistent offender), not maintaining financial responsibility for a vehicle and speeding. Trial-setting was scheduled for today. Mercer County Associate Judge Brad Funk heard the case.
Roger L. Farris, 57, 119 Kavanaugh St., had his case bound over to the Circuit Division on a charge of domestic assault. Trial-setting was scheduled for today. Mercer County Associate Judge Brad Funk heard the case.
David Dowell, 47, 140 E. Fifth St., waived his preliminary hearing and had his cases bound over to the Circuit Division on two charges of non-support. Trial-setting was scheduled for today. Another charge of non-support was dismissed.
Courtney M. Eaton, 28, 1615 W. 15th St., waived his preliminary hearing and had his case bound over to the Circuit Division on a charge of operating a motor vehicle on the highway while his driver’s license was suspended or revoked. Trial-setting was scheduled for today.
Dillon P. Axton, 17, Gallatin, pleaded guilty to speeding and was fined $92.50 and $58.50 costs.
Jacob Shipley, 23, Galt, pleaded guilty to an amended charge of operating a motor vehicle with defective brakes (the original charge was speeding with radar detection equipment). He was fined $200 and $58.50 costs.
Charles R. Holtzclaw, 25, Spickard, had a charge of not maintaining financial responsibility for a vehicle dismissed.
Edward L. Jones, 38, Galt, pleaded guilty to having no proof of insurance and not wearing a seat belt and was fined $27.50, $10 and $58.50 costs.
Kevin Sullivan, 23, Chula, pleaded guilty to tampering with physical evidence and stealing. He was sentenced to serve 15 days in the Grundy County Detention Center on each charge, with the sentences to run concurrently. He is also to pay $116.50 costs.
John B. Carr, 22, Galt, pleaded guilty to possession of up to 35 grams of marijuana and supplying liquor to a minor. He was fined a total of $800 and is to pay $116.50 costs. A hearing was set for Aug. 23 on a charge of unlawful use of drug paraphernalia, to which he pleaded not guilty.
Joshua A. Chase, 27, 302 S. Main St., pleaded guilty to an amended charge of misdemeanor failing ot return rental property (the original charge was a felony). He was sentenced to serve 42 days in the Grundy County Detention Center, with credit given for 42 days served. Costs were waived.
Aaron P. Martin, 21, Princeton, pleaded guilty to being a minor visibly intoxicated and had imposition of his sentence suspended. He was placed on probation for one year. He also pleaded guilty to assault of a law enforcement officer and had imposition of his sentence suspended and was placed on probation for one year. He is to complete 160 hours of community service, pay $1,000 to the Grundy County Law Enforcement Fund and $116.50 costs. Charges of resisting arrest, unlawful use of a weapon and peace disturbance were dismissed.
The following defendants pleaded guilty to their charges and paid their fines through the Fine Collection Center, with their names provided to the Republican-Times:
Pleading guilty to speeding and fined $30.50 were Bradley Bertrand, Princeton; and Caleb Seek, Norborne.
Nathan Bethards, Laredo, pleaded guilty to speeding and was fined $155.50.
Pleading guilty to speeding and fined $55.50 were Tricia Dauterive, Ankeny, IA; Joyce Mathews, Trenton; Traci Parkhurst, Eagleville; and Lacey Rechterman, Higginsville.
Samuel Faulkner, Princeton, pleaded guilty to failing to display valid plates on a motor vehicle and was fined $30.50.
Joshua Frazier, Trenton, pleaded guilty to failing to display valid plates on a motor vehicle and was fined $30.50. He also pleaded guilty to not wearing a seat belt and was fined $10.
Karl Macvey, Newton, IA, pleaded guilty to speeding and was fined $80.50.
Tara Noah, Chillicothe, pleaded guilty to speeding and was fined $55.50. She also pleaded guilty to operating a vehicle on the highway without a valid license and was fined $80.50.
Pleading guilty to not wearing a seat belt and fined $10 were Ethan Tabbert and Terry L. Williams, both of Trenton.
