Spickard Increases Sewer Rates, Princeton Licenses Approved

The Spickard council voted to increase the base sewer rate to $6.90, which is a 15 percent increase. The new rate will go into effect with the June bill and is being implemented to help pay for upgrades to the lagoon and keep up with costs.

In other business, the council agreed to seek bids for trash removal service and for haying, agreed to look at repairing or replacing the backhoe and agreed to purchase new tires for the dump truck and repair a tractor. The council also named Bob Darby as council president and agreed to investigate employee health insurance rates.
The council is reminding all city residents that an ordinance is in place prohibiting grass higher than 10 inches on property. Action will be taken against those not keeping their yards mowed.
The next regular meeting is scheduled for July 5.
