Three Lady Pirates Named All-Region

Three North Central Missouri College Lady Pirate softball players were named to the All-Region 16 team following the tournament in Columbia. Stacy Hines and Sara Stafford were first-team selections and Hannah Hill was named to the second team.

Hines was the leader of the Lady Pirates’ pitching staff, throwing a team-high 132 innings. Hines posted a record of 11-8 with a 3.34 ERA and 76 strikeouts.
Sara Stafford led the North Central offense, hitting .408. Stafford drove in a team-high 42 RBIs and scored 33 runs. Stafford was the Lady Pirates’ shortstop throughout the season, displaying solid defense in the field.
Hill was the Lady Pirates’ final all-region pick, making the second team as an outfielder. Hill hit .348 for the Lady Pirates and drove in 17 runs, while scoring a team-high 34 runs.
The three players helped lead North Central to a 21-19 record in Head Coach Max Mothersbaugh’s final season at the helm of the Lady Pirates’ softball program. The Lady Pirates enjoyed a 10-0 start to the season and received a three-seed in the Region 16 Tournament.
