Robert Porter, a 54-year- old resident of Trenton, passed away Thursday evening, May 26, 2011, at his residence due to natural causes.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at the First Christian Church of Trenton. Burial will be in the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Gower.
A scheduled visitation will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. on Monday, May 30, 2011 at Resthaven Mortuary of Trenton.
Mr. Porter was born on June 16, 1956, the son of Gean Paul and Dorothy Faye (Wilhoit) Porter. He graduated from Trenton High School and the Trenton Junior College Construction Technology Program.
He was married to Cheryl King on April 22, 1978.
He had owned and operated Porter Construction since 1978. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Trenton.
Mr. Porter is survived by two daughters, Andrea McKown and her husband, Nathan of Excelsior Springs, and Lindsay Porter and her fiancee, Danny Stevens of Trenton; his mother, Dorothy Porter of Trenton; a brother, Paul Porter and his wife, Becky of Marshall; and two grandchildren, Austin Stevens and Gabrielle McKown.
He was preceded in death by his father.
