The Grundy County Conservation Poster Contest was held this past year, sponsored by the Grundy County Soil and Water Conservation District.

“Forests for People More Than You Can Imagine” was the theme for this year. Heather Keith and Kevin Stover presented awards at various assemblies. The poster winners included:
Pleasant View R-6 – 1. Dylan Harris, 2. Isaac Harris , 3. Eric Kleinschmidt, fourth grade; 1. Emily Kasinger, 2. Leah Polk, fifth grade; 1. Rylee Berti, 2. Brittany Wilson, sixth grade. Miss Berti and Miss Wilson were also awarded the Three-Year Recipient Award. Students of Miss Murphy’s first and second grade class were recognized. These students participated in Stewardship Week and Annual Customer Appreciation Day. Students honored with certificates included Sophie Kaster, Luke Schilling, Teya Cooksey, Natalie Ricker, Max Kleinschmidt, Tyler Siemer, Warren Meservey, Chase Otto, Jillian Simpson, Tanner Lynch, Grace Shirley, Andrew Flentje, Harley Hall, Lilly Berti, Jenna Reeter, Ashton Schmidt and Preston Harris.
Grundy R-5 – 1. Saedee Jackson, 2. Emma Baxter, 3. Taylor Brunelle, fourth grade; 1. Russell Neeley, 2. Hailey Braden and 3. Zoe Littleton , fifth grade; 1, Kayla Geyer, 2. Avery Webb and 3. Jaylen Neff, sixth grade. Miss Webb was also honored for placing second in Grundy County. Miss Geyer was also awarded the Three-Year Recipient Award .
Laredo R-7 – 1. Caden Ashford, 2 Mayce Axtell,and 3. Autumn Shoemaker, fourth grade; 1, Madyson Williams , 2. Austin Eckert , fifth grade; 1. Mariah Fox and 2. Hunter Shoemaker, sixth grade. Miss Fox was also awarded the Three-Year Recipient Award.
Spickard R-2 – 1, Austin Travis, 2. Sierra Bruse and 3. Rodney Lawrence, fourth grade; 1. Riley Howe, 2. Colton Youngs and 3. Tiffany Youngs, fifth grade; 1. Joshua Barnes and 2. Lana Raymo, sixth grade. Barnes and Miss Raymo were also awarded the Three-Year Recipient Award . The students of Mrs. Frisbie’s second and third grade class were recognized for participating in Stewardship Week. Students honored with certificates included Casey Barnes, Ethan Glenn, Paige Miller, Jack Tharp, Tiffany Ward and Hannah Bruse.
S.M. Rissler School – 1. Nneoma Okea, 2. Latorrie Johnson and 3. Nickolas Wattenbarger, fourth grade. Miss Okea was also honored for placing fist in Grundy County and her poster will advance to state competition. Miss Johnson was honored for placing second in Grundy County and Wattenbarger was honored for placing third in Grundy County.
Trenton Middle School – 1. Emma Norris, 2. Samantha Mihalovich and 3. Lacy Schrock, fifth grade. Miss Norris was also honored for placing first in Grundy County and her poster will advance to state competition. Miss Mihalovich was honored for placing second in Grundy County and Miss Schrock was honored for placing third in Grundy County.
