Safety Fair Is Wednesday

The North 65 Center in Trenton will be host to a “Safety Fair” on Wednesday from 9 a.m. to noon.

The event will include information on safety, education and mental health. Senior citizens, baby boomers and care givers from across the Green Hills area are invited to attend.
Special programs are planned throughout the morning, beginning at 9:15 a.m. with a personal safety talk by former Marine and retired highway patrolman Dennis Goldsmith. Kit Wiger will share information on Administration of Aging initiatives at 9:45 a.m., followed by a question and answer session by pharmacist NiCole Neal of Pamida at 10:15. The final program of the day will be on identity theft, presented at 11:15 a.m. by Susie Flechman of Farmers Bank of Northern Missouri.
Screening will be available on vision, balance, depression and falls prevention. An exhibit area with about 20 exhibitors will be open for viewing during the program time. The Trenton Fire Department will have the fire trailer and a fire extinguisher safety program on the senior citizens parking lot. Refreshments will be available, however, no meal will be served on that day.
The event is sponsored by the Northwest Missouri Area Agency on Aging and area senior centers. There is no registration fee and there will be door prizes given away throughout the day.
