Floyd D. Gwinn, a 91-year-old resident of Trenton, died on Tuesday, May 17, 2011 in Trenton. He was a former resident of Jameson.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 21, 2011 at the Roberson Funeral Home in Gilman City. Burial with military rites in Brown Cemetery at Gallatin.
Family visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. General visitation begins at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 20, 2011.
Mr. Gwinn was born on Nov. 26, 1919 in Daviess County, the son of Harry H. and Goldie M. Francis Gwinn. He attended a country school through the sixth grade. He worked at assorted jobs until joining the Army. He served in the military during World War II, from June 9, 1942 to Dec. 3, 1945, with Company E 313th Infantry, 79th Division as a cook. He was in the European Theater for 19 months. When he was discharged from the military he traveled across the country working for farmers to harvest crops for a year, he then returned and started farming on his own.
Mr. Gwinn married on Sept. 14, 1946 to Rose Cox, who preceded him in death on May 16, 1996. He worked for the Missouri Highway Department in Cameron for 11 years. They moved in 1963 to Jameson, where they farmed and raised beef and dairy cattle until retiring in 1992, moving to Trenton.
Survivors include a daughter, Diana L. (Donald) Rankin and a grandson, Bradley Rankin.
Mr. Gwinn was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and four brothers, Delbert, Walter, Raymond and Roy Lee.
