“Stamp Out Hunger” is a nationwide drive to collect non-perishable items for local food banks. Persons wanting to make a donation of non-perishable items to the local food pantry may leave them in a bag near their mailbox on that day and their postal carrier will pick them up for delivery to the food pantry.
The National Association of Letter Carriers, which promotes the event in conjunction with the U.S. Postal Service, reminds those making a donation to not include items that have expired or are in glass containers. Grundy County Food Pantry officials note that items with expired dates cannot be used and asked that persons please check the dates before making their donation.
