The Missouri Department of Transportation has announced four hearings to be held in the northwest district concerning the recent plan presented by MoDOT to cut some $512 million from its budget.

Staff reductions, the closing of facilities, selling pieces of equipment and expanding district areas are among the actions included in the proposal, which will be considered by the Missouri Highway and Transportation Commission at its June 8 meeting.
Meetings include Wednesday, May 11, 10 a.m. to noon at the East Hills Public Library in St. Joseph; Tuesday, May 17, 10 a.m. to noon at the Hangar Theater in Maryville; Wednesday, May 18, 10 a.m. to noon at the Cameron city council chambers; and Wednesday, May 18, 1 to 4 p.m. in the South Harrison High School at Bethany (please park in the north parking lot).
