The Trenton girls were battling some injuries and went to the meet without the aid of Amber Fischbach, Katey Norris, Katie Lenhart and Nicole Fairchild. Despite the losses to the roster, Trenton still had a relatively good day, capturing four gold medals.
The 4×800-meter relay team, running with two replacement runners, captured gold with a time of 11:05. Regulars Molly Boyle and Megan Sole teamed with Kendra Lickteig and Ashley Osborn to take the top spot in the event.
“I was really pleased with the way the 4×800 performed,” Lady Bulldogs’ Coach Chris Parks said. “Kendra Lickteig stepped in and did a good job and Ashley Osborn did an exceptional job for someone who hasn’t trained for an 800.”

“We were fortunate to have a pretty good night to run,” Bulldogs’ Head Coach Wes Croy said. “I thought the boys continued to go in the direction we wanted them to go as far as improving at this point of the season. We had some great individual performances from some of our kids and hopefully we are where we need to be heading into districts. Hopefully we can come away with a lot of kids advancing.”
Next up for the Trenton track and field teams is the district meet at LeBlond High School in St. Joseph on Saturday.
