The new THS wrestling room will be open for wrestling from 7:30-10:30 a.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, beginning on June 1 and running through July 27. The room will not be open on June 27-29 and July 2-10. Supervision will be provided by THS wrestling coaches Bill Hill and Charlie Bacon and the open-mat sessions are open to any Trenton wrestler entering grades 5-12. There is no charge for these sessions and wrestlers are encouraged to attend as often as possible.
On June 27-29, a three-day wrestling camp will be held at the new wrestling room with former Trenton wrestling standout Reggie Burress being the primary camp instructor. Burress coaches at Platte County High School, where he has guided several of their wrestling teams and individuals to state titles over the past several years. Camp times for wrestlers entering grades 7-12 will be 9-11:30 a.m. and 12:30-2:30 p.m. each day. The fee for the camp is $50 and includes a t-shirt if paid by June 1. A camp for wrestlers entering grades 1-6 will also be held on the same three days. The time for that camp is 3-4:30 p.m. each day. That camp cost will be $20 and includes a t-shirt if paid by June 1.
For camp registration forms or more information, persons may contact Bill Hill at the Trenton Middle School at 359-4328 or at home at 673-6335.
