Donald Ray Manning, a 72-year-old resident of Chillicothe, died on Thursday, April 28, 2011 at Cameron Regional Medical Center in Cameron. The body was cremated.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, May 2, 2011 at Heritage Funeral Home in Chillicothe. There will be a private burial at a later date.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Monday.
Mr. Manning was born in Chillicothe, on March 14, 1939 the son of Lee B. Manning and Irene Fern Offield Manning. He attended Chillicothe schools and served in the United States Air Force.
He was a member of Local Union 101 working as a heavy equipment operator for several area companies building highways and airports and large projects.
He was a member of Turning Point Church in Chillicothe and enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.
He is survived by three sisters, Charlotte Manning of Chillicothe, Charlene Clevenger of Chillicothe and Betty Anderson and her husband, Ron, of Grandview; two nieces, Barbara Applebury and her husband, Tracy, of Trenton and Debra Burnett; a nephew, Clint Manning and his wife, Sue; a great-niece, Teresa Ausberger and her husband, Matt, of Stewartsville; a great-nephew, Brent Applebury of Stewartsville; and extended family, Debby and Ray Peel and family of Chillicothe.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Vernon Manning; and close friend and companion, Martha Figg.
Memorials may be made to Children’s Mercy Hospital and left at the funeral home or mailed to Heritage Funeral Home, 3141 N. Washington, Chillicothe, MO 64601
