Pirates Fall In Game With Indian Hills

The North Central Missouri College Pirates baseball team was in action on the road in Centerville, IA, facing Indian Hills Community College in a single nine-inning game.
The game never reached nine innings, however, as the contest was called in the seventh with Indian Hills leading by 11 runs, 12-1.

Indian Hills wasted little time getting on the board, establishing a 4-0 advantage in the bottom of the first inning. North Central surrendered another run in the second, stretching the lead to 5-0. The Pirates were finally able to answer in the fifth with a single run after both teams went scoreless in the third and fourth innings. Indian Hills closed the game the way they started, however, scoring five more runs in the sixth and two in the seventh.
North Central scored their one run on just three hits and one Indian Hills error. Indian Hills, meanwhile, tallied 12 runs on 10 hits and four Pirate errors. Taking the loss on the hill for the Pirates was Mitch Seward, who is now 0-7 on the season.
As a team, the Pirates dropped to 11-25 on the season with the loss.
North Central will look to rebound today as they play host to Highland Community College at Burleigh Grimes Field in Trenton. The doubleheader between the two squads began at 1 p.m.
