Visitation for Christina J. Powers will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. on Friday, April 8, 2011 at the Whitaker-Eads Funeral Home in Trenton.

Mrs. Powers, a 71-year-old Trenton resident, died at 11:12 p.m. on Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at Saint Luke’s on the Plaza in Kansas City.
Mrs. Powers was born on Dec. 22, 1939 in Daviess County, the daughter of Elzy I. and Dorothy J. Smith Pugh. She graduated from Gallatin High School. She was married on April 26, 1958 at Lawrence, KS to Charles Powers. She was employed as a nurse’s aide at Sunnyview Nursing Home.
Surviving relatives include her husband, Charles Powers of Trenton; sons Richard Powers of Trenton and Rick Powers of Enid, OK; daughters, Debbie Hill of Kerrville, TX and Jenny Shaffer of Arlington, TX; sisters, Carolyn Brown of Bethany and Francis Hayes of Albany; a sister-in-law, Lucille Pugh of Altamont; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Marion and Bob Pugh.
