Lady Pirates Swept on The Road At Indian Hills
The Lady Pirates battled Indian Hills closely in game one, but the home team broke the game open in the fourth inning. The Lady Pirates were unable to match the Indian Hills’ outburst and came up short. NCMC scored its lone run on an RBI double by Jessica Thompson that drove in Hannah Hill. Sara Stafford was the only Lady Pirate with a multiple-hit game, finishing with two hits. Stacy Hines took the loss on the hill.
In game two, the Lady Pirates were hanging on, trailing 1-0, but Indian Hills again opened the flood gates midway through the contest, pulling away for the shutout of NCMC. Hill and Thompson each had one hit, but that was all the offense the Lady Pirates could muster. Thompson was the losing pitcher.
“We did have a positive come out of these games today,” Lady Pirates’’ Head Coach Max Mothersbaugh said. “Defensively, we played really well. Our infield really looked good. We have it set, but we still have some outfield work to do. We also need to be able to stop the bleeding. When Indian Hills got a run, it didn’t stop at just one. They would tack several on.”
NCMC will travel to Lamoni, IA today to face Graceland University’s JV.
