Eleanor Wood Langford, an 89-year-old resident of Fayette, died on Monday, March 28, 2011 at Lenoir Woods in Columbia.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 3, 2011 at the First Christian Church in Fayette. Burial will follow at Ashland Cemetery.
A family visitation will be at 1 p.m. at the church, prior to the service.
Mrs. Langford was born on Dec. 13, 1921 near Rocheport, the daughter of Herbert and Hazel Young. She received her education at Central Methodist College in Fayette and the University of Missouri. She was married in 1947 to Larkin Langford when he returned from military service in World War II. They lived in San Carlos, AZ, Dickinson, ND and Spickard through her husband’s career with North Dakota State University and the University of Missouri. She was a homemaker.
They retired in 1985 and moved to Fayette, where they were active in the First Christian Church and various community organizations. Mrs. Langford was a member of PEO and the MMM and Golden Study Clubs.
She is survived by two sons, two daughters, and their families, Gary and Pamela (Langford) Shoop of Keller, TX; Sharon Langford of Edmonds, WA; Don and Anna Langford of Gibsonia, PA; and Dale Langford and Lyn Mortimer of Rocheport. She also is survived by eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a sister, Betty Johnson of Leawood, KS and a brother, Robert O. Young of Fayette.
She was preceded in death by her husband, who died in January 2011; and her parents.
The family suggests memorial gifts to the Ashland Cemetery Association or Fayette First Christian Church.
