Barry Dean Lane, a 55-year-old resident of Jamesport, died at his home on Saturday, March 19, 2011.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at the Church of God in Christ Mennonite at Jamesport. Burial will be in the Church of God in Christ Mennonite Cemetery at Jamesport.
A family visitation will be held from 6 to 8 o’clock tonight (Monday, March 21, 2011) at the church. General visitation is under way at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Jamesport.
Mr. Lane was born on Jan. 24, 1956 in Mount Ayr, IA, the son of Harry K. and Julia E. Maggard Lane. He moved with his family to Des Moines, IA at the age of nine. He was married on Dec. 27, 1980 at Des Moines to Sherri Rae Long, who survives of the home. The couple lived the first 13 years of their married life in the Polk City, IA area. He worked several occupations, then in 1993 purchased a farm in the Jamesport area.
He is survived by his wife, Sherri, and their children, Shela, Brandon, Bradley and Bruce of the home, Ben Lane and his wife, Joanna of Gallatin, Bart Lane and his wife, Bonnie of Jamesport, Sylvia Dirks and her husband, Michael of Jamesport and Serena Seib and her husband, Jimmy of Gallatin; three brothers, Rick, Randy and Bob Lane; a sister, Diann Alt; and nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
