Pirates Handed Two Losses

The North Central Missouri College Pirates baseball team was handed two more losses on Monday as they were swept by Delaware Tech Community College 8-2, and Lackawanna Community College 8-0 at the Ripkin Baseball Complex in Myrtle Beach, SC.

The Pirates fell behind 3-0 in the first inning of their first game and 8-0 heading into the final inning. North Central put up two runs in the top of the seventh, but that was all they would get as they fell, 8-2.
North Central struggled in the field in game one, coming in with five errors. The Pirates were also out-hit in the contest 8-6. Carlos Mercado was the losing pitcher, falling to 1-2 on the season.
In game two, North Central again gave up eight runs, this time to Lackawanna Community College. North Central was held off the scoreboard, mustering just two hits all game.
Lackawanna earned their eight runs off 16 hits and two Pirate errors. Austin Warren took the loss for the Pirates, falling to 0-4 on the season.
The two losses dropped the Pirates to 2-14 on the season. North Central was in action today for one final game on their South Carolina swing. The Pirates battled County College of Morris this morning. A full recap of the game will be included in Wednesday’s Republican-Times.
