Nancy Wilson vs. Union Pacific Railroad Company, Gerald Shrum, Ed O. Taft and Nancy Nikkole Groves. The plaintiff has filed a wrongful death suit again the defendants in connection with a Dec. 9, 2009 vehicle-train accident in which her son, Adam Romesburg, was fatally injured. She is seeking a jury trial.

Jerry D. Brock, 32, 601 E. Ninth St., waived his preliminary hearing and had his case bound over to the Circuit Division on a charge of first degree tampering with a motor vehicle. Trial-setting was scheduled for March 17.
Courtney M. Eaton, 28, 615 W. 15th St., pleaded guilty to resisting or interfering with arrest and was sentenced to serve 16 days in the Grundy County Detention Center, with credit given for time served. He is also to pay $116.50 costs. A charge of domestic assault was dismissed.
Zachariah E. Oneal, 19, 1864 E. Eighth St., pleaded guilty to speeding and was fined $22.50 and $58.50 costs.
Cody G. Smith, 26, Milan, failed to appear in court on a charge of not wearing a seat belt and his bond of $50 was forfeited.
Joel R. Teter, 20, Bevier, pleaded guilty to being a minor visibly intoxicated and was fined $300 and $116.50 costs.
Nellie M. VanHoozer, 58, 312 E. Eighth St., waived her preliminary hearing and had her case bound over to the Circuit Division on a charge of second degree burglary, with trial-setting scheduled for May 17.
Joshua B. Johnson, 24, Dover, TN, pleaded guilty to speeding and not wearing a seat belt and was fined $32.50, $10 and $58.50 costs.
Nathan L. Evans, 20, Princeton, pleaded guilty to operating a motor vehicle with vision-reducing material applied to the side window in excess of 35 percent and was fined $12.50 and $58.50 costs.
Clayton L. Bertrand, 20, Princeton, pleaded guilty to being a minor visibly intoxicated and was fined $300 and $116.50 costs.
Branden Smith, 33, Fulton, waived his preliminary hearing and had his case bound over to the Circuit Division on five counts of forgery: uttering as genuine.Trial-setting was scheduled for March 17.
Charles W. Berry, 24, Grand Junction, IA, pleaded guilty to not wearing a seat belt and was fined $10.
Marty L. Goerne, 26, Chilicothe, pleaded guilty to failing to register a vehicle annually with the Director of Revenue and was fined $27.50 and $58.50 costs. He also pleaded guilty to failing to provide proof of insurance and was fined $27.50 and $58.50 costs. He also pleaded guilty to driving while revoked and was sentenced to serve 15 days in the Grundy County Detention Center and pay $116.50 costs.
Miguel T. Baez, 30, Marshalltown, IA, had a charge of not maintaining financial responsibility for a vehicle dismissed.
Troy T. Meinke, 20, Princeton, pleaded guilty to possessing a fictitious driver’s license and had imposition of his sentence suspended. He was placed on probation for eight months and is to complete 10 hours of community service, make a $275 donation to the Grundy County Law Enforce-ment Restitution Fund and pay $58.50 costs.
Gregory J. Dana, 54, Trenton, waived his preliminary hearing and had his case bound over to the Circuit Division on charges of possession of a controlled substance except 35 grams or less of marijuana. Also certified to the Circuit Division were charges of possession of up to 35 grams of marijuana and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia. Trial-setting was scheduled for March 17.
