Scout Leaders Receive Awards

Several area Boy Scout leaders were recognized during the Ma-Has-Kah District Leaders Recognition Dinner on Sunday night, Feb. 27 in Trenton at the First Christian Church.

The District Award of Merit, which is the highest award a district can give to a leader, went to Jeff Spencer of Troop 99 at Trenton and Jeremy Hall of Troop 121 in Chillicothe. The Big Stick Award, presented to the leader that has performed outstanding work on a district project or program, went to Warren Woodson of Troop 97 in Trenton.
The Light Bulb Award, given to a new leader that brings enthusiasm, a bright attitude and fresh ideas to scouting, went to Billy Robinson of Troop 105 at Princeton. The Golden Skillet Award for the unit with the highest attendance went to Troop 121. Receiving the camping award were Troop 99 of Trenton and Troop 121.
Receiving Spark Plug Awards were Tim Allnutt, Gary Hall, Patsy Griffin and David Chamberlain of Troop 99; Lynn McCarter of Troop 97; Steve Williams of Troop 121; Karen Hinton, Rev. Bill Reese, Rev. Peggie Wood, Darin Ward, Steve Williams, Vince Smith, Ginger Williams and Randy Rasche of Pack 120 of Chillicothe; and John Rose of Troop 100 of Bethany.
Presenters included Kevin Bailey, Cory Cooksey, Warren Woodson, Brian Davidson, Chris Rupple, Amanda Hall and Carla Fitzpatrick.
