Princeton vs. Tri-County
The Princeton Lady Tigers picked up a 58-24 win over Tri-County, ending the Lady Mustangs’ season.
Princeton roared out to an 18-4 lead in the first quarter and held a 32-10 lead at halftime. Princeton continued its assault in the third quarter with a 17-6 run before cruising through the final frame on their way to a 34-point win.
“We met up with a very strong and aggressive Princeton team,” Lady Mustangs’ Head Coach Susie Vandevender said. “They simply dominated the boards all night. I appreciated the effort the girls displayed. They worked hard and were totally exhausted when the game was over. These girls improved tremendously since the beginning of the season. They should hold their heads high and be proud of themselves. We are going to miss our seniors Maggie (Siddoway), Hannah (Sweet) and Hillarie (Moore). They were great leaders who set positive examples on and off the court.”
Princeton was led by Danessa Derry, who had 18 points and Cassie Teeter, who had 13 points. Tri-County got six points from Briana Hixson, five points and seven rebounds from Sweet, five points from Timbre Gardner, four points and five rebounds from Paiten Hamilton and two points each from Madison Huston and Siddoway.
The loss ended the Lady Mustangs’ season at 6-17 while Princeton improved to 12-11. The Lady Tigers will now play North Harrison tonight at 7 o’clock.
